SCALER partner University of Cambridge is publishing an academic conference paper on “Sustainable value creation through industrial symbiosis”. The launch will take place during the upcoming WASTES 2019 conference in Lisbon, 4-6 September 2019.
The paper will present a conceptual framework to create sustainable value through industrial symbiosis, identifying internal and external enablers that can support the implementation of resource synergies.
Looking at the environmental, economic and social benefits for key stakeholders involved in industrial symbiosis, the study aims to help define pathways to move from incremental one-off synergies to a systematic application of resource efficiency, ultimately increasing resource productivity and competitiveness.
The results reported in the paper are part of the wider mission of SCALER to scale up industrial symbiosis across Europe.
